General

- You must have respect for each and every member. I don't care if you're staff, or if you've just joined, just be nice alright?

- Some swearing is allowed, but please don't go overboard. It doesn't make you look all that clever.

- Don't post any offensive images, whether they be pornographic, explicitly violent... You get the idea!

- OOC chat stays in the OOC boards. But I figure that should be obvious.

- You can only have one character per account, however you are allowed to make as many accounts as you feel you can handle. Please make sure you are active on all of them, though, or I will ask you to get rid of one.

- If you choose to have multiple accounts, please try to keep gender equality. I don't want one person to have like, twelve girls and only one guy or something.

- Posts are in third person, past tense. This means no ‘I walk into the bar and ask for a drink’. Instead it should look like ‘She walked into the bar and asked for a drink’.

- You are not your character. This is the most important rule! Just because someone’s character doesn’t like your character, that doesn’t mean that person doesn’t like you. Also, people do not necessarily have the same beliefs as their characters, so if a character is racist, don’t bash the player!

~ Please read the thread titled ‘Roleplaying Tips’. If you have any questions about roleplaying, they’re probably answered in that thread.

Characters

- Obviously, this is a fantasy roleplay, so you can have people who are magical and whatnot. That doesn‘t mean, however, that every character will be a dwarf or an elf or a centaur or whatever. A vast majority will be human, plain and simple. If you wish to play a character that isn't human, please send me a message with what you want to be.

- Try to keep people looking realistic. This means no luminescent green hair, or eyes, or skin. Also, I do not want anyone to have eyes that change colour, because that just gets annoying. I understand if your character has a power that affects their appearance, or if you are using an anime picture and the person has typical anime hair, but try to keep it to a minimum.

- You are allowed to use real people or cartoon/anime/drawn pictures for your character, but make sure to keep the pictures matching your character, okay? Do not change your celebrity'. That is the way you look and there is no changing that. Also, please keep the age in mind. You can't have Ian McKellan for a 12-year-old. And be sure to post your celebrity claim in the correct thread.

- On the topic of pictures, if someone is already using a celebrity, do NOT use the same celebrity for your character unless they are identical twins. There will be a ‘Claimed Celebrities’ thread with a list of the celebs that are already taken so this should not happen.

- Students should be from age 11-18, and they will be in years 1 through 8 according to their age, not their level of experience. This means that if you have a character who is thirteen, but has never been to a magic school before, he/she would still be in third year. Professors should generally be older than 25.

- Each character can have up to and including three, that’s right, three powers. Also, no powers over death, life, and keep telepaths down to a minimum! Nothing is more annoying than a school half-filled with people who can read other people’s minds.

- No Mary Sue's or Gary Stu's. Basically people who everyone is friends with, all the guys/girls want to be/be with, you get the point.

Roleplaying

- There is no limit to how much or how little you post. Here, we want to help you improve your roleplaying. However, nobody likes one-liners, and they can easily be avoided.

- Pay attention to the seasons! If you describe blistering snow-storms in the middle of summer, I'll know you're neglecting this rule.

- No powerplaying or godmodding. Powerplaying is controlling another person’s character without their permission, and godmodding is basically making your character perfect. Just don’t do it.

- No drugs or alcohol, plain and simple.

- This one isn't so much of a rule as a general annoyance of mine. I find few things more annoying than when two characters go into a roleplay having never met before, and then after like, three posts they're deeply in love. Seriously, no one does that in real life, EVER! So don't do it here.

Fighting

- Fights can occur over anything you want, because some people are just touchy like that.

- Again, no powerplaying or godmodding. You can't land every punch, and you can't dodge them all either.

- Fights don’t necessarily have to be fair. It could be a group of strong, frightening guys against a single girl, so don’t complain if people gang up on other characters, just have a reason for it.

-Try to keep it realistic! If a big football player and his buddies gang up on a wimpy computer geek or something, chances are the geek's gonna lose. In a fist fight. But, here at Elemental's everyone has crazy magical powers, so things aren't always as they seem.
